THE HOKEY POKEY:: is that what it's really all about?
i sure hope so.

complaining::
anyway, today our Sears store got a visit from the president of Sears...which is the reason why i haven't posted anything worth reading in a while. actually...well, maybe i haven't posted anything worth reading ever, but in that case it would be a different reason. or something. ... ...right. anyway, moving on.

for the last few weeks, our store has been preparing for the visit from the president. it's been crazy hectic, and i've put in many overtime hours. (which is nice...but also stinks) on Tuesday, Nick Kunkle started working for us. he had a horrible first day. the truck that came on Tuesday was the biggest load we've ever had, and most of it was not on pallets, meaning that we had to manually drag it off the truck for the most part. also, it was like 90-somethin-freakin-degrees outside with some crazy-go-nuts humidity, and it was way too stinkin hot. Nick and i were both dehydrated and tired, there were no drinks in the stock room refridgerator, and we couldn't go anywhere to get a drink until we had finished unloading the truck. man...that was hard stuff. and then after we closed at 6pm, i went home, ate, and went to bed. my boss called me about 9pm (because i had forgotten that i had volunteered to help ready the store for our visit), and i went back and worked until after midnight. wow. too much work.

okay, enough complaining::
so our visit came today. the president lady came in, shook my hand, we took a picture for the chamber of commerce, and then walked around the store and talked to Mr. Carroll and Mr. North. she did not ask me or any one else about how to use the blue book, how to sell maintainance agreements, or do any of those other horrible things i was told she would do. what a nice lady. she was impressed with the store, so: we win. or...get to keep playing. or something.

my little brother, Michael (who's 8 years old) broke both of his arms on Saturday. he was riding on a zip-line at a party thing the church was having, and it jerked him at the end and he fell off. he tried to catch himself on the way down and ended up breaking both arms. his right radius is broken above the wrist, and his left radius is broken right at the elbow joint. luckily his left arm is broken near his growth plates, which should speed up the healing, and he should be out of his splint on that arm in three weeks. his right arm will take more like six weeks to heal, but at least he's got a groovy swimmable cast, so he doesn't have to stay out of the pools for all of the summer. YAY!
i signed his cast first. i wrote:
"YOU ROCK -- Bryan"
i think Nick was second. he wrote:
"DITTO -- Nick"
he's taking it amazingly well, i think. he's a trooper, definitely.

okay, i don't have a clue where my family is. they're usually home when i get home from work...but alas, they are not here. well, the guys who are putting siding on our house are here. maybe they can be my family. i hope one of them cooks dinner. i'm going upstairs to play videogames. bye.

Ainsley:: call me, i miss you

Dad:: call me, i miss you (and can't wait to go to Colorado!!!). hmm...you don't read this do you. well, call me anyway. ...or...maybe since you don't read this... uh..i'll call you.

Mr. Sparks, the greatest band director ever, has finally announced that he is leaving Easton High School. Sparks has been contemplating this for a long time, and finally decided to move to a school in California. I am proud to say that I was (and still am) a good friend and confidant to Sparks. I know the difficult time this decision has given him, and I know that it pains him to leave the kids he loves. On the other hand, the school system that he certainly does not love is not something that pains him to leave. I think Sparks will have a much better time out west, and that this was the best decision he could make at this point.

still......this is something that makes me (and everybody else that has had Sparky as a director) very sad.

Nick: "I think the guitar is getting jealous of the TV"
yeah, so i bought a TV today...
...nice 20" flat screen from my work.

it was a good deal, so i took it. that quote from the title comes from when we were riding home after i bought the TV. it wouldn't fit in the trunk or back seat, so it had to ride in the front. Nick rode in the back, and my guitar was in the back too. we went around a corner and the guitar fell over onto Nick. he said that the guitar was starting to get frisky, and that it was probably because it was jealous of the TV (since the TV was obviously getting preferential treatment by getting to ride shotgun)

anyway, i spent most of the day with Nick. i think he actually came into town to pick up his movie. yesterday, he came by and left behind Men In Black II, which his mom had rented from Blockbuster. i went to go rent a game from Blockbuster, and when i came back they told me that Nick had called and he left his movie at my house. so i call Nick back, get the answering machine, and tell him i'm taking his movie back so it won't be late. see, i thought it was due... anyway, so i turn it in, and then i get home, and there's a message from Nick saying that they had just rented the movie and it wasn't due back until next Monday. so, i go back to Blockbuster and it turned out that i didn't even need to explain what happened, because Nick had called them when i was on my way there. anyway, i got their movie back.
so Nick is bored or somethin, and ends up at my house again today. we watch most of his movie, and then decide to go to lunch. as we pass the road to Jared's house, we decide to pick him up. so i turn around in front of traffic and somehow miss second gear. oh man, that sounded nice, but it sure didn't get us anywhere fast, and the guy in a truck right behind us probably thought i was an idiot. we're coming up to the red light, and Nick yells, "pull the e-brake!" so i did. the car comes to a screeching halt right in front of the line (which was sweet, but also noisy, and probably made us look like even bigger idiots). anyway, we go get Jared (who chose to ride his sweet streetbike), and go visit Kaitlin, then went to Popeyes to get some awesome chicken. Jared almost had a close encounter with a crazy drunk driver or somethin. there was a crazy driver who was weaving in and out of traffic and cut off a car right in front of Jared. Nick and i thought they wrecked, but then the crazy guy pulled out and took off riding in between 2 lanes....anyway, that was weird.

after that we ran some errands or soemthing...i can't remember ... and then we went home. we were looking forward to playing Enter the Matrix, the Matrix game for xbox, but people were using the TV. so i said, "well, i'll just have to buy a TV then...... hmm..that reminds me.....Nick! get back in the car!" and then we went to Sears to buy the TV. what fun, and excitement. nobody believed i was serious, but i sure was.

hmm..i can't remember whatelse happened today...stuff.

rain, rain, go away
last year was a drought, therefore this year is nothing but torrential downpour. darn lightning...mom says get off the computer, and since it's her computer, i must comply. this is going to be short.

Jordan:: (why are most of my posts at least partially directed toward Jordan? probably because he's just that good.)
...anyway...you might like this, enjoy.
next: Germany is wunderbar i recommend checking out the 360degree pictures of Germany

what's going on::
work, as always. Nick comes and visits me about 3 times a week, which is pretty cool, but it seems like he could find something better to do with his summer. i probably wouldn't drive all the way from his house to Easton just to eat lunch. Casey Cep gave him a ride sine he totalled his car the other day. (wow, if you haven't heard about that one, ask him) it was weird, because Casey certainly wouldn't have been visiting me if Nick hadn't dragged her there.
anyway, something better...this Sunday will be my first time playing guitar in the early service at church. oh man, it'll be great, i hope. i played last Friday night at senior high youth. it was definitely an off-the-cuff performance. basically, i happened to have my guitar in the car, and Drew asked me what i was playing since Logs wasn't there to lead worship. Drew picks out four songs that i've never played before, makes copies of the chord sheets i had printed out, and we sang. it went okay. actually, the third song definitely fell apart, but hey, yeah, it went okay. Logs was sick yesterday, and didn't come to junior high youth. that was okay, because Rob had it covered, and that all went well. some of the kids actually answered questions, and most of them paid attention, which is certainly a new development. afterward, we tossed the football around, and one of the guys spit a verse freestyle for me. i feel like i'm finally getting to know some of the kids. i didn't think i ever would, because they're all so different from me. this has already been a good experience, especially if God has youth ministry in the future for me.

anyway, i'm tired. maybe i'll actually go to bed early tonight.
oh yeah, and it stopped raining already..hehe...i guess i didn't turn off the computer for the lightning. ah well.

in case you weren't paying attention last time: Singapore says hello

Jordan::
please note the post on 6/2/2003 at 10:40:13 PM. yes, that's right, i answered your challenge only seven hours, thirty-nine minutes, and 1 second after your post on Monday, June 02, 2003 at 3:01:12 PM, and well before your reminder post on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 10:07:59 AM. you must not be keeping up with things if you think you have to repeat yourself.

now, to the general public::
wait, never mind. not to the general public. that sounds like i'm sending out a message to the masses, and i suppose that if i were doing that, then i would have to be saying something meaningful. to bad. i have no meaning today.

moving on::
today's another one of those restless days, like in my post on 5/11/2003 at 3:33:17 AM. ...hmm..i don't know why i keep looking up what date i posted things. i'm just bored, i suppose. argh...it's irritating. i want to be moving, but i'm not going anywhere, and it doesn't feel like i should be moving in any specific direction.
i drove around for a while tonight. just driving and listening to music. some Dashboard, some Five Iron, some Sev_Statik, some Like Summer...

what's goen down lately::
man, it's hot today. unloading the truck at work today was crazy hot, and Mr. Carroll let me go home and change out of my sweaty clothes during my lunch break. i hope Nick didn't come by to visit, because the last couple of times he's come by, i haven't been there. after work, i had to find something to do, because my mom was having a Southern Living party with some ladies from church. you know, it's one of those parties where a bunch of ladies get together and sit in somebody's living room, and they look though catalogs of things for their home and stuff, and then one of the ladies tries to sell a bunch of junk or something. i dunno, anyway, my mom wanted us all to not bother them, so we all decided to find stuff to do away from home.

i ended up playing ultimate frisbee (well, it could almost have been called that). in reality, only Daniel and i had ever played ultimate before, Daniel hadn't played since we played last year, and most of the other people that came to play couldn't even throw a frisbee. anyway, it was sad, but still fun, i guess.

i finally talked to Ainsley on the phone today! yay! i miss her soooooo much! argh, Ainsley!! why did you have to stay in Montana for the summer?!?!? ah well, anyway, it was great to talk to her, and she sounds like she's having a great time on her dude ranch thing. i need to talk to her more often. i'm sending her a phone card for her birthday, which just happened.... HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY!!!

moving on again... OH OH OH!!! i found out yesterday that Mike (my steo-dad) is giving me his car!!! wow oh wow oh wow!! sweet action! oh man, i love that car. this means that i will have a car next year at school, which i definitely not expecting! that's good stuff man! ...now i have to replace the windshield and pay for parking...darn.

oh yeah, and in the middle of my aimless driving, i ended up at Claire's house. she just had her wisdom teeth taken out, and i wanted to check up on her. she's doing well. i have to get my wisdom teeth out at the end of the summer. WAA!

and the best thing of the week::
Nick totals his car within sight of his house, but walks away without a scratch...
...nice.

and the worst thing of the week::
Nick totals his car...
...ouch, that sucks.

the best thing i've seen at Sears yet
we got one of these in today...woowee...what will they integrate into the microwave next??? oh man, i can't wait to see...

and i quote:: "Enough power to cook breakfast, lunch or snacks quickly and efficiently. 800 watt Toaster function browns bagels, toast, or manages frozen foods for fast and tasty meals."

Singapore says hello.

oh my::
i can't believe they changes they made on the new Shocker by Smart Parts

today::
111 compact refridgerators (as seen below)
came in on the truck at Sears.

also today::
111 compact refridgerators (as seen below)
were delivered to MEBA engineering school by Sears. and by Sears i mean me and Andrew.

later today::
i'm tired. wow. that was a lot of refridgerators, even though they were small ones. i forgot about Claire's bday and didn't go over to her house until Kaitlin called and told me to come over. we watched Drumline, which is a pretty sweet movie--kind of.
as i aluded to just a second ago, today was Claire's (C-Wing or whatever her G-Street name is) birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAIRE! also a very happy birthday is overdue for Jared (Jay-Funk) and Ainsley (A-Dawg). man...what's up with you people from da block all bein born within a week of each other? crazyiness.
this week i decided i have always had a crush on Kaitlin. hmm...maybe i shouldn't say that. i wonder who from da block reads this.. oh well. too bad she has a boyfriend (at least she did the last i heard). maybe i'll ask her on a date anyway. she's totally sweet.

singapore says hello.

what the stuff are all these dumb icons doing on my desktop??? who's been installing new programs around here???
really...i don't know where some of this stuff came from .... "Norton Systemworks", "Norton Ghost", "Test Drive 6 Demo", "Pearl Harbor-Zero Hour" ... hmm...

so anyway::
i posted that last message then i checked my email in a very Strong Bad fashion i must say, and low and behold there's an email from none other than Joel D. Boerckel! wooooooweeeee, now i feel special. hehe...jk Joel...nice to hear from you..i'll write back soon...

right, so i just got back from Jared and Kaitlin's graduation party. that was sweet as all get out. or something. lots of Badminton (with four badminton racquets, one old school tennis racquet, and a plastic baseball bat), Keep-Away-From-the-Boys (where i played on the girls' team, of course), crazy good wings and shrimp, and even a little improv punk band action (courtesy of Jake "Stiffy" Stiffler on guitar and myself on drumset). it was a good time. there was one time when a bunch of Kaitlin's family was sitting on their porch and her mom started asking tons of questions about my experience with college and any advice for Kaitlin. i just told them about my rather introspective time of finding out what God had in store for my life and what career he wanted me to pursue. other than that, i told her to just take naps. jk...i told her and i guess anybody else that was listening a lot of about how i made the greatest friends i've ever had, how i learned far more about myself than anything i was studying, and how college can definitely be the best thing you've ever experienced--if you make it that way.

... so, now i'm tired. well, i'm not really tired right now, but i know i will be tomorrow, and the early service is at 8:30am, so i better head to bed!
...tune in next time...same bat time, same bat channel.
