i meant to post this Saturday night. i forgot that it was definitely the funniest thing that happened all week.
so, instead of writing it now, i'm going to copy/paste from Jordan's blog.
i like to think that it's just an example of how white people are at Grove City College, and especially in Adelphikos. i wish there were more people around that actually had some rhythm. i think it wouuld make things more fun

we're so white::
::from Jordan's blog::
What else to say? Greek sing was bleah. We didn't do nearly as well in the performance as we did during rehearsal, which is certainly a shame. This statement sums it up: We got beat by five guys (delta-iota-kappa) singing Henry VIII. Well, good for us. I enjoyed it all the same. I'm already thinking of sings we might do next year...
If any of the Brothers In Christ are reading this, props to all of y'alls - without a doubt you should have won in your division.

But who cares about Greek sing?

TODAY'S MOMENT OF ZEN For the ADELS: Kyle instructing us on how to clap while singing - "Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}" The funny thing is that we still didn't clap right
okay, so we sang "Ain't no Mountain High" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Kyle was instructing the guys that couldn't figure out when to clap through the last chorus. Kyle was doing a good job of explaining that it only sounded right to clap on beats two and four without using a words like "clap on beats two and four" (which is a good thing for our group). the funny part about it was that everybody else started saying it too, and it was just humorous to see a bunch of guys looking very excited because they could go "Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}, Ain't NO{clap}". and the other funny thing is that we still messed up the clapping a bit in the performance.

there's no way that a bunch of white guys can do that song justice. and obviously, we didn't. it wasn't even that funny. and that's why we lost to five DIKs who sounded like the hadn't even rehearsed their song twice.

the good thing is::
i'm glad to announce to everyone that Greek Sing has no bearing over my life, nor anyone else's. unfortunately, some of our guys were quite upset at how we didn't even place. they were saying we got shafted, just like last year. these were the same guys that wouldn't have been able to tell if a song was being sung out of tune or behind the accompanist's tempo.
i just laughed. my favorite part is that Jordan (who's only a social bid now) is already thinking about what he wants us to do next year. it's exciting to me, because that makes me think he's interested in joining the ADELs next year. YES!
