the final Victor Lee experience for the year, and ATB continues to only get better and better

today::
oh man. i'm not sure All-Terrain Bocce could get much better--but i know it will, and that's the scary thing. what's next? underwater? skydiving bocce?? in the girls bathroom??? hmm...maybe not the last one, that's a bit too extreme for Grove City students.

anyway, about our game tonight. we started out with eight people, which is a key number. the game started like this: after our Bible study dinner at Victor Lee's, we're walking through the chapel gardens toward MAP to go get the cookies that Shara and Jenna made. i turn and for some reason get an urge to count the number of people with us. after four counts i got seven, nine, eight, and eight again. i decide that there must be eight people. suddenly the number eight strikes something funny with me. i'm standing there thinking why eight is special, and it comes to me......eight is the number of balls in bocce!!! so i search for Jordan, who is still hiding in the big rhododendron tree. i yell to him "hey Jordan, guess how many people are here!" he replies, "how many?" and i say, "it appears that there are eight people here." jordan's eyes light up: "how many did you say?" "eight." he does the little nod thing that he does when he's asking me if i'm thinking what he's thinking, and so i do it back meaning "i sure am thinking what he's thinking, but who's going to go get the balls?" he voices the question on both of our minds: "so.....are you going to go get the balls or what?" well, we ended up bringing everybody, plus the cookies to go get the bocce set, and we played from Memorial. <--now this didn't actually have anything to do with anything important, and it really didn't have any bearing over the game or even over this story. i'm not real sure why i included it, but i sure did. so there you go.

of course we threw directly onto the quad, as is our custom. also of course, we lost the white ball on the quad, as is also our custom. this is somewhat of an unfortunate custom, since once we commence with our ritual losing of the white ball (you know, the one that Joel and i can't pronounce the name of...something like Patella or Pachinco or something), we can't find it. you'd think that we'd know that when were going to lose the ball that we might not be able to find it afterward, but i suppose we forget the consequences of losing things. so anyway, somebody launched the ball into the middle of the quad, and, after throwing all the balls at once, we ran around in a somewhat whimsical attempt to find the lost white ball. it wasn't that bad this time, because we found it within five minutes of looking and i didn't have to give up hope and curl up in the fetal position for the ball to show itself.

also, we played through the curvvy walkway under the flag, you know, the one where there's always people making out at night... well, there were people there making out, and Paul told them to stop. it was funny, and probably embarassing for the couple. oh well, we just wanted to play through.
at one point we were throwing onto South porch, which was, as one would assume, delightful. after that we threw from South porch towards the quad again, but one my balls barely cleared the edge of the porch and went straight into one of those big bushy bushes. you know, the ones that seem like they're really bushes. anyway, so after a while of just peeking around the bushes, jordan sort of jumps inside of one and starts looking around...well, i didn't realize you could get inside of them, because apparently they weren't as bushy bushes as i thought. so i stick my head inside one and start looking around, and soon enough we have all four of us with our heads inside the bushes looking around. i wish somebody would have taken a picture, because i'm sure it would have been humorous to see a line of bushes with four pairs of legs sticking out.

so, then we headed up to the Geedunk/IM room area. that's where the real fun began.
we played right through the Gee, of course. there was no other logical step up from our previous games of ATB other than to go right through the Gee on a night when it's jam packed with people studying for finals. i mean, come on....it was the only logical move to keep up the intensity. heh heh. anyway, so we bothered a bunch of people--especially that girl that Jordan hit in the foot. after a few rounds in the Gee, we moved on.
next, we decided to throw down that long hall on the way down to the green IM room...and...i'll let Jordan pick up here. read his blog from like points eight to ten to get the gist of what else happened in our game before we were defeated by people making out.

oh, and Jordan has a somewhat more concise summary of tonights events on his blog, so if you want to read that, it might be quicker than reading mine. i'm sure that now you're wishing that i had mentioned that before, but hey, if i told you to read Jordan's blog instead of mine all the time, nobody would read mine, and i'd be sad. ................aaaaaaaaanyway...WAA! read on.

and now::
right now i'm sitting in the party stall (aka the handicapped stall) in the bathroom. i wanted to edit my blog and go to bed, but with my couch and bench in storage and my bed covered with stuff to take home, i have nowhere to sit in my room. i would stand on the folding chair that kyle took from Ketler Rec and use my computer on top of my shelves, but i felt like i needed a different point of view. thus, i sit on the toilet, in the party stall. not that i'm using the bathroom, but you don't have to use the bathroom to enjoy the party stall. a lot of times i come in here to play guitar or do other stuff. it's important to realize that a bathroom can be used for so much more than just a place to ...well, you know...use the bathroom.

to Jordan::
Altuna. i believe that's in PA or NY. i bet you thought i forgot, didn't you? well, i did. but now i remember. A to ya.

correction::
in my last post i said Keith Davis, and by Keith Davis i meant Randy Cole. oh well, it wasn't important to the story anyway.
