oh yeah, i almost forgot. and about the whole LOTR thing. i realized you were right, Neil and Jordan. what attracted me so much to the movie was that i had already fallen in love with Tolkien's huge imagination and the way his fantasies had such a grande scope. everything, from the map of his made up world to each individual dialect of each of the cultures he fabricated to the amazing back story and history books behind the whole thing....it all just confounded and amazed me that someone could have an imagination bigger than mine. either that or it just amazed me that he had enough time on his hands to write it all out...heh heh.

anyways, what i realized that i love the books. and i do think that Peter Jackson did a wonderful job, and probably the best he possibly could have done in less than 3 years of filming and what will end up being nearly 11 hours of movie. and not just the "recreating an awesome book" aspect of the LOTR movie made it great for me, it was also, as you said, Neil, "absolutely spectacular at parts - and definitely enjoyable. The scenery and setting of the movie is gorgeous - and the CGI amazes at times." but i agree with you and Jordan.

now, in review: in my post, i said, "ugh... Return of the King is by far the best and most epic movie ever made." yep, now i take that back. i guess it turns out that that was the beginning of the bad funk that i was in at the beginning of this break.

This is my first post in these forums, and after reading through them, most of them seem to be ranting about Dr Oxford's article on Lord of the Rings. All I have to say is "YOU STUPID IDIOTS!!!!". That article is so outrageous and silly, it is obvious from the very beginning that it is a comedy , satire article, meant to amuse. It got me laughing. So please, stop being an idiot and posting rebuttals to his article. If you can't understand that the article is silly, then I'm suprised that you are smart enough to read. You people make me embarrased to be of the same species as you. I hope you die.

after reading this and all of the responses to this post, i promply burst into loud laughter, which i had to silence since it's like 1am and everybody else is asleep here. anyways, um...that's all i have to say. check it out.
